The best way to understand and therefore love this country is through the arts. The second is to advocate the idea that the arts (and crafts) produce jobs.  The opportunity came up when my boyfriend was asked to lease a resort in Batangas, he made a terrible mistake of asking me to help him “renovate it". 

Until now he doesn’t know what hurricane passed through his resort! He only vaguely remembers a rush of furniture descending and ascending the 270 steps of the compound. Nothing was delivered on time.  And we overshot our budget for ‘retouching”.  But I got what I wanted. A showcase of some of the best Filipino products laid out dramatically in a resort setting – Call it passion, obsession.
